Commercial Lender

A community-focused financial institution with a strong commitment to relationship banking is seeking a Commercial Lender to support continued growth within its commercial banking division. This organization has built a reputation for responsive decision-making, disciplined credit practices, and long-standing partnerships with businesses and agricultural producers across its markets.

This opportunity offers portfolio ownership, direct client engagement, and the ability to drive meaningful loan growth within a stable, collaborative banking environment.

The Commercial Lender will be responsible for developing new business relationships, structuring tailored credit solutions, and managing an existing portfolio while maintaining strong asset quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial and agricultural lending relationships
• Originate and structure C&I, agricultural, and commercial real estate loan opportunities
• Structure and negotiate credit facilities, including operating lines, term loans, equipment financing, and real estate financing
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections to assess credit risk
• Prepare and present loan packages and recommendations to the loan committee
• Monitor portfolio performance to ensure strong asset quality and regulatory compliance
• Cross-sell deposit and treasury management services to deepen client relationships
• Participate in community engagement and business development initiatives
• Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding financing needs and opportunities

Required Qualifications:

• 1–4+ years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, agricultural banking, or commercial lending within a banking environment
• Ability or desire to develop new business relationships and grow a loan portfolio
• Strong financial analysis and credit underwriting skills
• Experience with commercial, agricultural, or real estate lending structures preferred
• Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and lending policies
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
• Established local business and/or agricultural network preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Agriculture, or a related field preferred
